Here's a look behind the scenes:
Larry Cobb, Station Manager and Producer
Larry Cobb began working in radio in 1971. Since then he has been involved in every aspect of radio broadcasting, from on-air work to sales and management.
Larry enjoys cloudy, overcast days. A little drizzle in the air is a bonus. |
Paula Cobb, Office Manager and Producer
An industry veteran, Paula Cobb handled traffic and bookkeeping for 10 stations at once from 1979 until 2005. Whew! These days she manages the office and often the sound board at WKQA. She's inquisitive by nature and likes to get to know people. What better way than daily immersion in the world of talk-radio?
Paula loves early mornings for their peace and coffee. She's a fan of HGTV and Pennsylvania Dutch pot pie (it's a soup!) and a twin to Pam. If she had life to live again, she'd be an interior decorator. |
Nora Firestone, Client Development
Born on Long Island, NY, Nora Firestone is a creative entrepreneur who knows the power of effective advertising. Her background includes commercial (advertising) art and writing, journalism, website building and more.
In 1993 Nora moved to Virginia Beach, where she has since worked as a writer and communications professional for more than 10 years. She now wields her creative and business prowess as client-development specialist for WKQA radio, where she has been hosting The Nora Firestone Show Thursday afternoons since 2015.
Nora prefers downhill skiing to selfie taking, good chocolate to caviar, integrity to showmanship and Americanism to socialism. Ask her about the power of radio advertising for your business, cause or political candidacy.
